April 2009:    New Shop display announced at the AGM

Goon Show Shop supremo displayed some exciting new items now on sale.
 
March 2009:  The AGM was announced--Saturday April 4th--with Star Guests!
At our usual venue, The Old King's Head pub, off Borough High Street, near London Bridge, with James and Sally Grafton in attendance.
 
March 2009:  A man in Oz' needs our help
Geoff Potter, Local Studies Librarian, Gosford City Council, Gosford, NSW, Australia 2250 has emailed us for some help. See the full email on our Interview Page here

"Gosford City Library seeks donations/loans for copying of photographs, correspondence, vinyl records, autographed books and other interesting material relating to Spike Milligan, the Milligan family, the Goon Show and other programmes made by Spike. Gosford Library is looking to establish a permanent exhibition celebrating Spike's Australian experiences at our Woy Woy Branch."

December 2008:    London Meeting - James & Sally were unable to attend due to illness.
And Dick Mills got stuck on the M4. The actress, Sandra Caron (Alma Cogan's sister) stepped into the breach and a great day was had by all.

November 2008:     London Meeting announced for 29th November

At the usual venue, The Old King's Head, with Star Guests, Dick Mills and James & Sally Grafton .

August / September 2008:  GSPS finds Andrew Secombe--son of Harry 
Our highly steamed Chairman & Newsletter editor John Repsch has been approached by Radio 2 to help out on a new programme talking to the children of the Goons'. Hence finding and chatting to Andrew: Silé, Jane, Richard (Bentine) and Sarah (Sellers) have all been contacted, as will James (Grafton) son of Jimmy, to add their reminisces to the show's recording.

April 2008:   Spike's Birthday 16th April--he would have been 90
And our Chairman John Repsch celebrated the fact by being interviewed by no less than Seven Radio Stations all across the UK.

March 2008:    Wow!  What a fantastic A.G.M.--Star Guests Galore!
Well what can we say, not only the great Joe McGrath as promised, but also the two London based Milligan girls, Jane and Silé (Laura lives in Australia now) and then right at the end, after Joe had chatted to us about the weird ending to "The Magic Christian" film (where he used the song "Something in The Air" by Thunderclap Newman as the play-out music) than up stands - Mr Andy "Thunderclap" Newman - in the flesh… What a day.

February 2008:   A.G.M. was announced for Saturday 8th March with Star Guest! The World Famous Joe McGrath, DIRECTOR, WRITER, PRODUCER AND ACTOR. Joe talked about his long career in films & TV.
 
February 2008:   Tina Hammond became GSPS Secretary again
Following an announcement by our Chairman John Repsch we now have a new GSPS Secretary, Tina Hammond.

January 2008:   Michael Palin interviewed by GSPS.
After many months of trying, the intrepid Mike Brown was finally given an opportunity to interview the great Michael Palin on all things goonish and pythonesque.

November 2007:   New man takes over Newsletter Design…
Anthony Green from Leeds has become our new newsletter designer. He has a wealth of experience in the world of real newspapers up there in Yorkshire and his first issue, no: 120, was hailed as a great success. He can be contacted on his new email address which is newsgoons@gmail.com
 
November 2007:   Norma Farnes graces the London Meeting.
Saturday Nov 4th turned out to be very special day as Norma Farnes spent the afternoon chatting away to us about her time with Spike. A full report will be out in a forthcoming newsletter.
 
October 2007:  The Sussex Mob were 21
In true Sussex tradition, a fabulous weekend of fun was arranged under the pseudonym "The Hastings Flyer" and a great time was had by all.
 
May 2007:   Ace reporter & interviewer Mike Brown helps BBC R4
Well known to many through his wonderful articles in the Society's newsletters, Mike Brown, our ace reporter & interviewer taped an interview for the BBC on Thursday 24th May entitled "Larry Stephens--The Man Who Never Was."

April 2007:     Gill Nicholas took over the Video Library


March 2007:    The AGM took place with star guest Marcel Stellman. New products were launched for the Goon Show Shop… (* see Shop Page)
 
December 2006:    Hot News for the New Year
Michael Terry, graphic artist has written an article for the web site. Also, the author Rohan Candappa about his book "Viva Cha!" containing a spoof Goon Show script.

October 2006:    London Group Star Event with Charles Chilton and Bobby Jaye.
 

May 2006:   New "Members Only" newsgroup launched
